The principal of the firm, Pat Lennon, has a long history of undertaking defamation work for and on behalf of high profile individuals and clients.
When the firm was Lennon Mazzeo, Pat Lennon obtained for Dyson Hore-Lacy SC what was, at the time, a record defamation payout. That matter related to a long running defamation claim, the subject of interlocutory appeals which were determined favourably by the Court of Appeal and, ultimately resulting in a huge payout as against Phil Cleary arising out of his publication, “Getting Away with Murder”. Allen & Unwin, the publishers of the book, were also one of the defendants in the case.
More recently, our Mr Lennon is acting on behalf of Mick Gatto in relation to his defamation claims against the ABC and the Daily Mail relating to alleged defamatory inferences arising out of an articles published in February in relation to the Lawyer X scandal.
